Off the east coast of Santa Cruz you will find the two Plazas islands: the smaller Plaza Norte is not accessible to visitors.

Plazas Sur, very dry and without high peaks, is exclusively covered with disc cacti and low shrubs. One such shrub, the Portulaca oleracea, is the favorite food of the land iguanas that can be seen everywhere.
